Unit: Wageningen UR
Location: Wageningen-UR, Atlasgebouw (gebouw 104), Droevendaalsesteeg 4, Wageningen
Organisation: Meteorology and Air Quality Group, Buys-Ballot Research School.

In recent years, Particulate Matter has become the most important air quality problem in Western Europe. This has triggered new research and has provoked intense ongoing political debates, and new legal regulations for emissions and concentrations on national and European level.

This year’s Buys Ballot Spring Symposium will bring together different aspects of particulate matter pollution with an emphasis on a Dutch perspective. Researchers will present current scientific knowledge and their point of view about environmental processes and measurements. In addition, health effects and legal regulations will be discussed. The symposium will end with an open debate on controversial issues and propositions on the impact of Particulate Matter and on legislation to improve air quality.

The registration fee for non-members of Buys-Ballot research school amounts € 25. – (including coffee, tea, lunch, drinks). Further information and registration at: www.phys.uu.nl/~bbos. See programme below.
