To celebrate the third lustrum of the study association of biotechnology, CODON will organize a symposium on Biobased Economy. This highly informative and interesting event will have an international character and will be open for all who’s interested.
In a biobased economy, chemistry companies and other non-food enterprise primarily use renewable materials and biomass as their resources. For the Netherlands, especially the use of the remains of the agricultural- and food industry are important. The ambition is to have 30% of all used materials biobased, by 2030. According to EU regulations, all member states should strive for a percentage of transportfuels of a biological origin of 5,75 percent by 2010.
