A regional refresher course for alumni from Latin America of IAC courses on
• Integrated Pest Management (IPM);
• Potato technology and chain development;
• Vegetable production/Horticulture;
• Plant Breeding, Conservation, Management and Use of Plant Genetic Resources in Agriculture;
• Rural extension (ICRE); and

Alumni of Wageningen University MSc courses on
• Plant Science;
• Ecological Agriculture;
• Management of Agriculture Knowledge Systems.

The course will present new technical concepts of IPM and experiences related to its implementation using participatory approaches. The role of different stakeholders for the development and implementation of IPM at farmers’ level will receive attention. The course will discuss succes factors and building blocks for IPM programmes and will pay particular attention to practical experiences and lessons learnt related to the implementation of IPM in small scale farming.
