8 Apr 2008 12:30 - 8 Apr 2008 13:15
Unit: __projectnaam__
Location: The Leeuwenborch, Piet de Visser meeting room
Organisation: WSO and Wageningen University

WSO and Wageningen University challenge you. Come and visit the lunch lectures in the weeks before eDay.

Four excellent lecturers will show how to challenge students by being teasing teachers. Students from WSO, SC and OWI Board will give direct feedback on the lectures.

Introduction today:
Simon Stevin will be presented as an inspiring example for people involved in teaching science. Stevin (1548-1620) wrote many at that time very popular books, bringing science in the reach of the practical engineer.  Starting from his logo, his particular view upon explaining and understanding science will be illustrated. His treatment of so called the hydrostatic paradox will be used as an example of how influential his way of thinking still is in the present.
