24 Nov 2008
Unit: CD IC
Location: Philippines
Organisation: Wageningen International and Univerisity of Los Banos (UPLB), Phillipines

24 November - 5 December.

Most concerns about the future of our planet relate to the need for sustained food production, poverty eradication, food safety, reduced CO2 emissions, and conservation of our common resources. Animal production provides valuable food and farm income; it can help to recycle wastes, or even to regenerate eroded watershed areas. It can also, however, exhaust natural resources or cause pollution, disease and food scares.

This course addresses issues of practical farm design, sustainable food production, modeling for resource conservation and policy issues such as biodiversity, millenium development goals and the Kyoto Protocol.

Application deadline: 24 September 2008
Please note NFP is not available for this course.
