In the last semester Eindhoven University of Technology has organised two days in the series of Master Class Days on Energy and Climate.
The subject of the first day (23 September 2008) was 'Climate Development and Uncertainties'. During the second day (4 November 2008) the subject 'Bio-energy and Biodiversity' was discussed.
In this semester three more days will be organised of which two are already filled in: 'Solar Cells' (3 February 2009) and 'Fusion / Concentrated Solar Power' (7 April 2009). The third day is scheduled on 26 May 2009: the subject of this Energy day will be ‘Energy availability and energy use’. In the next academic year again five energy days will be organised.
These 'Energydays' were established through close colloboration of the groups 'Plasma and Materials Processing' (Faculty of Applied Physics) and 'Technology and Sustainability Studies' (Faculty of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences) of above mentioned university.
Each day one subject in the area of energy and / or climate will be discussed in depth. Six speakers, all leading experts in the field involved, will cover the main issues. They will not only deal with the promises and possibilities, but also elaborate on the main problems and barriers for implementation.
The registration fee is € 15,00 (for PhD- and master students). This fee includes lunch and the the drink at the end of the day. It is also possible to join in for the closing dinner (no obligation!). This costs an extra € 15,00.
The maximum number of participants is 90
