Unit: Animal Sciences
Location: Hof van Wageningen, Lawickse Allee 9, Wageningen
Organisation: Milk Genomics Initiative, Animal Breeding and Genomics Centre, Wageningen University

On the occasion of the PhD defense of Jeroen Heck (March 13), Marianne Stoop (April 6) and Anke Schennink (April 29) the Dutch Milk Genomics Initiative organizes a scientific seminar on 'Genetics of Milk Quality'. The Milk Genomics Initiative is a collaboration between the Animal Breeding and Genomics Centre and the Product Design and Quality Management group of Wageningen University. The research started four years ago and aims to identify genes that contribute to natural genetic variation in milk-quality traits, in particular milk-fat and milk-protein composition. In those four years, a wide array of results has been achieved and the highlights will be presented during the seminar. In addition, leading international scientists in milk genomics will discuss the progress in their area of scientific research.
