From NovelQuality to NovelReality
The Final Meeting of the Industry Advisory Platform Organised by the EU funded Integrated Project 'NovelQ'
Introduction
In March 2011, the EU funded Integrated Project ‘Novel Processing Methods for the Production and Distribution of High-Quality and Safe Foods (NovelQ)’ will finish. During the project, many new scientific insights have been gained and new proofs-of-principle demonstrated in the areas of novel processing and packaging. At the final Industry Advisory Platform meeting, these outcomes will be presented in exhibition style at the NovelQ technology market with real products, pilot and small-scale technologies, demonstrations of software tools, posters and interactive discussion sessions. The technology market will be preceded by a mini-symposium to present scientific results and applied research findings and followed by the debate on future perspective of food research in Europe. The main theme of the event is ‘Novel processing applications from an industry perspective’.
The final industry-oriented event includes:
- mini-symposium on new scientific insights in the field of novel processing and packaging
- technology market with a number of demonstrations on practical applications and one-to-one sessions with novel processing experts
- debate on future perspective of food research in Europe
Why should I attend
Five years ago, the industrial view of novel processing tools was, in general, “… highly interesting but too far from business opportunities especially in Europe”. Now, we have numerous applications, innovations, unforeseen and useful outcomes as well as spin-off opportunities (e.g. in packaging). High pressure pasteurisation has already been applied in processing of juices, meats, tapas, whole meals, etc. A cold plasma demonstrator has been developed and sold worldwide. We are pleased to share these successes with the Members of the Industry Advisory Platform and NovelQ Consortium.
Deadline for hotel accommodation: 22 August 2010
Deadline for meeting registration: 8 September 2010
This meeting is opened to the Industry Advisory Platform Members only. You wish to attend the meeting and your company is not the IAP Member, please register via the NovelQ website. The membership is opened to all private companies that are interested in novel processing development. It is free of charge.
