Network meeting “Green energy opportunities in The Netherlands - beyond Copenhagen”
Holland Gateway cordially invites you to our network meeting: "Green energy opportunities in The Netherlands - beyond Copenhagen" on Thursday January 28, 15.00 – 17.00 hrs, Holland Gateway, Schiphol.
Last year concluded with the Copenhagen negotiations. It marked a global transition to embrace green energy in order to create a more sustainable global economy. Professor Pier Vellinga, longtime researcher on climate change and sustainable energy and one of the prominent initiators of the Holland Climate House at the conference, will share his views on the outcome of the negotiations and outline sustainable commercial possibilities and possible governmental policies that were identified by a host of companies, governmental bodies and NGO’s.
The emerging opportunities in the green energy sector have led to a significant increase in investments over the past year. We have noticed that many international companies are researching and finding opportunities within the Dutch context, alone or with partners. In our meeting we will focus on the possibilities in the offshore wind industry. Jaap Olthoff M.Sc. will give an overview of the business climate and developments in this branch, illustrated by the business case of NUON Wind Energy.
Both speakers will give their analysis of the current potential for international companies in the field and their expectations for future trends and developments.
Prof.dr. Pier Vellinga is professor in Environmental Sciences and Global Change at VU University Amsterdam and Wageningen UR (University Research centre), and Chair of the Knowledge for Climate Center. Jaap Olthoff M.Sc. is Head Technology Wind Benelux of NUON.
Participation in this event is free of charge.
