The Governing Body of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (IT PGRFA) adopted the “Standard Material Transfer Agreement” (SMTA) in June 2006, that will be applicable for material that Parties to the Treaty and other entities will place in the Multilateral System of Access and Benefit-Sharing. In the near future CGN will place a major part of its collections in this Multilateral System and make the germplasm available under the conditions of the SMTA. Currently, CGN prepares the implementation of this SMTA including via a click wrap procedure within the Search and Order Service for materials of its collections.
