CGI participates as one of the leading partners in the Hyperspectral Imaging Network (HYPER-I-NET). HYPER-I-NET is a Marie-Curie Research and Training Network of the EU 6th framework programme.

The main overall objective of HYPER-I-NET is to provide high-level training to early-stage researchers (ESRs) in hyperspectral imaging, and thereby to advance this research field and contribute to structuring the area within Europe. The project has a strong component of dissemination and innovation activities that will address important goals of European policies and initiatives such as GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security). In particular, training activities will be carried out in the context of concrete European research collaboration between several Universities, Research Institutes and 3 SMEs offering high technology services and with strong links to end-user industries. The project will use funding from the EC to mobilize substantial resources from national and regional funding bodies and thereby will contribute to the concept of the European Research Area (ERA).
