Food Supply Chains and Networks is one of the main research areas of Wageningen University and Research Centre. Markets for agricultural and other food products have changed greatly in recent years. They have become both more international and more concentrated. To stay competitive food chains need to combine their strong points with the technological and economic opportunities and strengthen or develop new product-market combinations. This requires both a multidisciplinary approach in research and close cooperation between public organisations and the private sector. Collaboration in chain and network research, both nationally and internationally, is increasing.
