The Strategic Plan 2007 - 2010 outlines the most important developments and opportunities for the many education and research activities of Wageningen University and Research Centre (Wageningen UR). It offers an insight into the motivations of our organisation, one of the Netherlands' largest knowledge institutions, driven by the mission 'to explore the potential of nature to improve the quality of life'.
This strategic plan includes a new description of the Wageningen UR domain, within which the behaviour and activities of man as actor in the field of 'healthy food and a healthy living environment' have been given a heavier emphasis alongside the basis in natural sciences and technology. This shift brings the work of Wageningen UR closer to the human being, and puts the institution in a better position to use the results of our education and research even more strongly in the service of society, including industry.
