Wageningen UR finished 33rd place in the category of organisations with more than 1,000 employees. In total, 311 organisations participated in this 2011 survey.

Wageningen UR employees rated their employer with a general satisfaction score of 7.5 out of 10 and gave its highest score, a 7.6 for the diversity and international aspects of working at Wageningen UR. Remuneration and fringe benefits were also highly appreciated, as well as independence at work and the possibility of flexible working hours.

Employees not only rated Wageningen UR on the basis of factors that influenced their satisfaction but were also asked to elaborate on their job at Wageningen UR answering ‘open questions’. They were asked what it is that makes working at Wageningen UR interesting. Here follows a selection of their answers:

  • "The questions Wageningen UR deals with from a scientific angle, are also questions that we encounter in our daily life.”
  • “Your own contribution is appreciated and there is freedom in your work. We also have good fringe benefits.”
  • “The variation in work and the large amount of freedom.” 
  •  “Interesting research and many international contacts.”
  • “Involved and motivated colleagues with a drive to make something special of it.”

Out of the 311 participating organisations only 100 qualified as ‘Best Employer’. The average response to the survey was 67%, some 194,472 employees shared their opinion in the survey.
