This course is designed to give you the skills and practice required to perform successfully in an English-speaking professional environment.
This course is primarily aimed at professionals currently working in an English-speaking environment, who would like to improve their business skills in the key areas of networking, presenting, running meetings, and negotiations. It would also be suitable to graduating students about to enter the business workplace and who are looking to give themselves an edge in the job market.
This course is designed to give you the skills and practice required to perform successfully in an English-speaking professional environment. Professional Skills in English will help you feel more comfortable when interacting with international colleagues and provide the skills required to run successful meetings. In addition, the subtleties of negotiating and how to present more effectively in English will be covered. This course is an ideal accompaniment to the Advanced Speaking Skills courses.
Elements included in the course are reinforced by peer-assessed, practical sessions allowing students to practice the taught skills as well as receive advice and tips on how their personal performance can be improved.
12 sessions of 1.5 hours each. In addition to the sessions, participants are expected to do 2 hours of self-study per session.

Additional training material will be provided by the teacher in digital format, so access to a computer is essential. Tablets and laptops are also useful for in class. Free Wi-Fi is available in class.
If you are taking the course in the context of Wageningen University & Research Language Policy, your skills will be tested in class. If you pass the course, you will receive a Wageningen in’to Languages certificate. Should you not pass, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance (providing you have attended enough classes).
