PhD Students of the Aquaculture and Fisheries Group

Our alumni as well as our current PhD students come from different backgrounds. They come from all over the world to Wageningen. After graduation they spread their wings again globally. Some do their thesis entirely within Wageningen University & Research, while others do their experimental work abroad. The common denominator of all our PhD students is there interest in contributing to sustainable Aquaculture and Fisheries.

Students will produce a professionally written dissertation that meets peer-review publication standards. Students will be able to prepare and deliver a professional quality oral presentation. Students will be able to effectively communicate in discussions with peers and general public. Students will demonstrate ability to solve problems, evaluate evidence and recognize bias; ability to adjust conclusions/approaches in face of new data or interpretation tools. Students will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of area of expertise and general breadth in the field. Students will demonstrate an understanding of ethical issues in Aquaculture and Fisheries.
