On 14 October, World Food Day will be celebrated in and around Ede with a large food and cooking festival. The Library of Wageningen University & Research is also participating in the festival with a bus excursion to its exhibition ‘Back to the Roots’.
The exhibition offers you the chance to see original textual and pictorial material on how food and food production were dealt with in the past. You’ll also get a unique peek behind the scenes in the depot of Special Collections.
At the festival’s vibrant heart in and around Ede’s Mauritskazerne, you can acquaint yourself with different food organizations through games and tastings. The festival also offers 19 excursions, different cooking workshops including one by Pierre Wind, and various talk shows such as 'De favorieten van Keuringsdienst van Waarde' and 'Gezondheidsmythes ontrafeld'. You can also watch cooking demos by top chefs like Estée Strooker and stroll through a farmers market with local products.
The bus for the Library excursion leaves from the Mauritskazerne (Nieuwe Kazernelaan 2, Ede) and costs € 5. But, you pay only € 2.50 if you use this discount code: WFD17EDE.
