Education and Information CGN

Genetic diversity in education and citizen’s information programmes.

Genetic diversity is an essential resource for human life as a resource for food and landscape. Awareness for its value and the need for conservation will be stimulated among citizens in developing course material and brochures for citizens. In this material the value of genetic diversity for mankind and for food production and landscape development is outlined. The use in sustainable food production with plants and animals may be enhanced by increasing knowledge among farmers about the opportunities offered by a wide genetic diversity. The products brochures and  descriptions of cases and concepts in course materials can be downloaded. New developments, worthwhile to be known for teachers and students are announced in newsletters via Groen Kennisnet.
