The European Charter and Code for Researchers

The European Commission has adopted a European Charter for Researchers and a Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. These two documents, addressed to researchers as well as to employers and funders in both the public and private sectors, are key elements in the European Union's policy to make research an attractive career, which is a vital feature of its strategy to stimulate economic and employment growth. The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R)

The HR Strategy for Researchers supports research institutions and funding organisations in the implementation of the ‘Charter & Code’ in their policies and practices. The logo "HR Excellence in Research" will identify the institutions and organisations as providers and supporters of a stimulating and favourable working environment. Read more

Logo ‘HR Excellence in Research’ for Wageningen University & Research

In June 2012 The European Commission acknowledged Wageningen University & Research as an organisation with an excellent HR policy and rewarded Wageningen University & Research with the logo ‘HR Excellence in Research’.

In May 2014 the European Commission announced that Wageningen University & Research successfully accomplished Step 4 of the HRS4R mechanism, and thereby retained the HR logo.

Process

The HR policy for researchers at Wageningen University & Research has been developed further by means of the Action Plan and Timetable for the period 2012-2014.
