Arianne van Eck is Assistant Professor in the ‘Sensory Science and Eating Behaviour’ and ‘Food Quality and Design’ chair groups, with a special interest in flavor release and perception. Her work focuses on unraveling new insights in the multi-disciplinary field of ‘food structure, flavor release/perception and eating behavior’ to find new ways to support healthy and/or sustainable eating behaviors.

Arianne van Eck is trained as a Nutritionist (BSc Nutrition & Health) and Sensory Scientist (MSc Sensory Science). She obtained her PhD degree from Wageningen University in the area of food oral processing, sensory perception and food intake of composite foods (2020). Directly after her PhD, she spent some years in the flavor/fragrance industry, where she worked on both innovation and sensory science projects. As of January 2024, she started as Assistant Professor at Wageningen University.
