12 July: Next PhD discussion meeting on Agriculture-Climate-Forests-Food

We would like to invite you to the next Agriculture–Climate-Forests-Food PhD discussion group meeting. Patric Brandt (Laboratory of Geo-information Science and Remote Sensing) will give a presentation titled "Smallholder dairy-farming in Kenya: linking sustainable intensification and climate change mitigation in the dairy sector to national targets".

Organised by REDD@WUR and CSA@WUR
Date

Wed 12 July 2017 12:15

Venue Gaia 1 (building 101, Droevendaalsesteeg 3, Wageningen)

Patric will present a study of his PhD that focuses on options to intensify dairy production sustainably in Kenyan highland regions. The feasibility and effectiveness of potential mitigation options are assessed, and linked to national targets such as the increase of milk productivity and Kenya’s mitigation commitment.

The presentation will be followed by a discussion with the group on:

  • the possible barriers and incentives for smallholders to adopt mitigation options on their farms
  • the opportunities for cross-sectoral integration
