Dutch Nutritional Science Days

Last week, the annual Dutch Nutritional Science Days took place in Heeze. During these recurrent meetings especially young scientists are stimulated to present and discuss their research in a committed group of young scientists and senior scientists within the field of nutrition. By bringing the nutrition community together, it gives young scientists the opportunity to network with expert in the field. The HAP group was very well represented by the presence of prof. Jaap Keijer, dr. Evert van Schothorst and the PhD candidates José Fernandez Calleja, Wenbiao Shi, Lonneke Janssen Duijghuijsen, Bart Lagerwaard, Marjanne van der Hoek, Taolin Yuan and Lianne Bouwman. This year José, Wenbiao and Lonneke presented some exciting data on nutritional physiology obtained within their PhD projects.

During this meeting, also the yearly NAV lecture by an internationally renowned scientist organized by young NAV takes place. This year professor Edith Feskens gave a nice interactive lecture about the activities and ideas of “From science in transition to….”
