Riskfeed
According to European law (Regulation (EU) 2017/625), it is mandatory for every Member State to perform risk-based official controls. In the project “Statistical underpinning of a risk-based National Plan Feed (WOT-02-004-012), the use and development of the developed RiskFeed model to substantiate the sampling plan for the National Plan Animal Feed is key.
RiskFeed is a computer model that determines a top ten of high-risk feed materials. The model is based on the risk of exceeding the limit for certain contaminants. RiskFeed combines this with the potential impact of this contaminant on the health of animals and / or humans. Various criteria are used in the model, such as the type of contaminant, the amount of imported feed materials, the use in animal feed, and the country of origin. An important input for this model is provided by statistical (trend) analyses that provide insight into the trends of hazards over time.
