Wageningen rises in Academic Ranking of World Universities
Wageningen University is ranked 32nd in the Life and Agricultural Sciences category of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2013. Last year, the university occupied the 40th place in the academic ranking of universities compiled by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Included in Social Sciences ranking
Wageningen University was also included in the ARWU’s Social Sciences ranking for the first time this year. The university is ranked among the top 150 in this discipline. The exact position was not indicated.
Rankings for universities
The Academic Ranking of World Universities is one of several university rankings published each year. Over the last couple of years, Wageningen UR has steadily climbed in almost every ranking. The Times Higher Education ranking, for example, included Wageningen University in the top-100 of thousands of universities worldwide.
World-class in Agriculture & Environmental Sciences
Whenever Wageningen University is compared to other universities that specialise in food and environmental sciences, it is usually included in the top of the ranking. Wageningen University has occupied the second position in the 'Agriculture & Environment Sciences' category of the Higher Education Evaluation & Accreditation Council of Taiwan’s ranking for years.
