Summary

The study was conducted in selected major tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L. ) producing areas of East Wollaga, Jimma, East Hararge, North Wollo and East Shoa (located in Central Rift Valley) zones. This study aimed to analyse the smallholder farmers irrigated tomato production systems in Ethiopia, to survey and to characterize the crop in different growing ecoregions and seasons, and to determine yield defining, yield limiting, or yield reducing factors by using a combination of yield and weather data analysis and field experimentation.
