Enzyme-Catalyzed Modification of Poly(ethersulfone) Membranes
In this thesis, a new mild modification method for poly(ethersulfone) (PES) membranes is presented. The principle of this modification and its effect on altering the adsorption of different molecules (i.e., protein, polysaccharide, polyphenol, and live cell) on the modified PES membranes (surfaces) is discussed. The thesis is concluded with an outlook on application of this modification method on industrial scale. In conclusion, this mild and flexible modification method is an interesting eco-friendly alternative to currently used methods to suppress fouling of PES-based membranes.
