15 Apr 2010 - 16 Apr 2010
Location: Wageningen
Organisation: Wageningen University and EUA-CDE

Subject and aim
There is a great deal of diversity in doctoral education in European universities. In response to the Bologna Process, many universities are upgrading their doctoral programmes to meet the growing demands from society (quality, transparency) and the labour market. European doctoral programmes need to attract the best candidates from Europe and from around the world.

What makes a doctoral programme attractive? What are good doctoral programmes? How do we define and assess the quality of a doctoral programme and its graduates, and how do we assure and measure quality improvement? The aims of the workshop are to address these questions, to exchange ideas, and to learn from best practices and from original research on quality assessment and quality improvement of doctoral programmes in and outside Europe.
