Wolfram Simon is a first-year Ph.D. candidate in the Animal Production System group (APS) at Wageningen University and Research (WUR) in the Netherlands. His research focusses on the environmental assessment of a  circular food system on a global and national level. In his masters program at WUR, he specialized in the analysis of sustainable and climate-smart agricultural systems and into ecological modeling. In his master thesis, he went to Bangladesh to analyze weather and market information networks using the means of social network analysis. In 2017, he received the Helmut Claas Scholarship for his bachelor thesis on Insects as food and feed in Europe and earned his bachelors degree at the University of Kassel in Germany in Sustainable agriculture with honors. Before his academic training, he completed a two-year practical farming apprenticeship, specializing in organic production systems in Switzerland.
