Towards Environmentally Sustainable and Equitable Palm Oil: promoting sustainable pathways by exploring connections between flows, networks and systems at multiple levels.
Greetje Schouten is a post-doctoral researcher and her task is to contribute to the integration of research efforts at program level and to the identification of sustainable pathways. Greetje will mainly contribute to the two main objectives of the SUSPENSE research programme: (1) to identify sustainable pathways for the production, processing and governing of palm oil and (2) to enable different stakeholders to contribute to a more environmentally sustainable and equitable palm oil sector. For this purpose she will combine theories on flows, networks and systems to unravel the complex dynamics of the palm oil sector. Through action research stakeholders will be engaged in seeking sustainable pathways.
