Climate change leads to extreme weather. The Limburg Water Board tries to prevent flooding and drought from causing problems in agricultural and natural areas, by conserving water when it is available and creating more space to store water. For this we operate sluice gates, we allow streams to meander and we encourage compliance with the rules for extracting water.
