Project

Transmission Studies of contaminants in farm animals

This project aims to achieve better policy advice on the consequences of food or environmental contaminants to animal derived food products in relation to public health.

This research is important for measures to be taken in case of incidents involving contaminants. In addition, this study provides insight into the relationship between standards for feed and animal products.

The aim of this research is to gain insight into the transfer of contaminants from food / environment to animal derived food products (meat, milk, eggs), including the relationship between feed and product standards. Results will be used for predictive kinetic models developed by the RIVM. This allows, for example at incidents, to give advice about the possible impact on consumers.
