Researchers at WASS

As a predominantly social science school, researchers at WASS essentially study the dynamics of human behaviour and interaction. They do this in relation the three broad life science domains that Wageningen UR has identified as its core, namely food & food production, environment & natural resources, and health, lifestyle & livelihood.

The school is strongly internationally oriented in staff, students and research topics, works across disciplinary boundaries and multiple scales from a solid empirical basis, and analyses social challenges as well as contributes to problem solving to improve the quality of life.

WASS brings senior researchers, post-docs and PhD candidates in the social sciences and interdisciplinary fields of research together. Our school currently hosts around 400 PhD candidates, about 25 post-docs and some 160 fellows (senior researchers).
