Students who need an entry visa:

International Office (IO) of Wageningen University & Research will apply for your entry visa and residence permit based on study in the Netherlands. It is not possible to start this procedure yourself.

In order to apply for an entry visa and residence permit you need to complete the steps below. International Office (IO) of Wageningen University & Research will send you instructions and forms upon receipt of your payment and/or fellowship letter.

The steps to Legal residence:

  1. Fill out the forms that International Office sends you after receipt of your payment and/or fellowship letter

  2. E-mail the scanned copies of the entry visa and residence forms (Roadmap) to IO for a check. IO will check the forms and will inform you if the forms have been filled out correctly

  3. Send the approved original filled out forms (Roadmap) to IO by courier

  4. IO confirms the receipt of the forms

  5. IO confirms the start of the procedure and will inform you as soon as your entry visa and residence permit has been approved by the Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Services (IND). You can contact IO through Questions and Answers
  6. After receiving the entry visa approval, you should contact the Dutch Embassy yourself and make an appointment to collect your entry visa and to submit your biometric data (passport photo and fingerprints). How long this process takes varies widely

  7. Book your flight

  8. After arrival, IO will inform you about: the residence permit card & the TB test (if applicable)
