What is Erasmus+?

Wageningen University and Research participates in the exchange program of the European Union, called Erasmus+. On this page you can find some information about this program.

Wageningen University participates in the exchange program of the European Union (Erasmus+). Based on this program you can visit a large number of universities in Europe. Moreover, you can apply for a grant for both study exchange aswell as for doing an internship/thesis in Europe.

In every country the procedures are standardized. This makes it easy for you to join this program. Apart from that, when you go abroad, you can apply for an Erasmus+ grant. Morover, when you meet all the conditions (for study or for internship/thesis), you will receive a travel allowance from WUR.

Once you are back in Wageningen the student administration will integrate the grades you obtained abroad in the Dutch system. Because within the European Union a standard grade conversion system was agreed upon, this is an easy procedure.

Wageningen University also has exchange agreements with non-EU universities, but exchange to these countries is not part of the Erasmus+ programme (and no grant or travel allowance is provided by through the study abroad office). Other options for studying abroad can be found here.

In the Erasmus Charter and Policy Statement you can get more information about the Erasmus agreement for Higher Education and the rights and regulations of students participating in the Erasmus+ program.
