Then our intensive summer course Social Dutch 3 course might be just the thing for you. Learn to speak the language using everyday situations, work on your pronunciation and explore the Dutch culture

The course is for bachelor’s and master’s students of Wageningen University & Research who already have a basic level of Dutch and who are interested in learning the language for social purposes.

Course content
The Social Dutch 3 course is a follow-up course to Social Dutch 2, but can also be taken as a stand-alone course if you already know some Dutch. The main goal of this course is to learn to communicate in Dutch in simple, everyday situations.

Once you have completed the course, you will be able to:
- een stad, dorp of landschap beschrijven;
- vertellen over het weer;
- vertellen wat je op vakantie doet;
- een voorstel doen;
- een informele e-mail schrijven;
- de weg vragen en wijzen;
- praten over vervoersmiddelen;
- eten beschrijven en beoordelen;
- een recept begrijpen;
- zeggen wat iemand moet doen;
- hoeveelheden benoemen;
- vertellen over je woning en meubels;
- dingen vergelijken;
- beleefde vragen stellen;
- de toekomst beschrijven;
- formele e-mails schrijven;
- adviezen geven;
- praten over je gezondheid;
- complimenten geven;
- naar een mening vragen;
- Je eigen mening geven.
Grammar is always discussed in a communicative context and in functional situations.
For example: When you learn to give advice, you simultaneously learn the verb ‘zouden’ because this verb is often used when giving advice in Dutch.
This course will also cover Dutch pronunciation and interesting aspects of Dutch culture.
The lecturer will speak Dutch as much as possible during the course.
Admission requirements
For this course you need prior knowledge of Dutch. You can sign up for this course, if you have participated in Social Dutch 2.

Location
You follow the course blended: online sessions in the Virtual Classroom and face-to-face sessions at our location: Forum, Wageningen Campus.
Number of meetings
The course runs for 1 week. You will have 4.5 hours of classes per day. The course meets twice a day for classes of 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Self-study
25 hours in total on homework.

Certification
After the course you will receive a certificate from Wageningen in’to Languages, provided you have attended at least 80% of the classes. With this certificate you can continue with Social Dutch 4.
