Marlies - Because the bachelor Business and Consumer Studies” was such a good start, I started the MME programme

It's interesting to study what influences consumers and to learn what role businesses play in this

After the first year of BBC I noticed that Consumer Studies was the right fit for me: I liked integrating social theories and applying them to a certain context. It's interesting to study what influences consumers and to learn what role businesses play in this. Although I am most interested in non-food products, I wrote my BSc thesis for FQD, for which I analysed vegan claims on cosmetic products. This focus on FQD might seem odd given my focus on non-food, but it fits with my ambition to become a usability researcher. As part of my BSc, I did a minor in Sustainable Tourism and Entrepreneurship in Lapland, which I benefit from now in my role as Human Resource Manager for Enactus. As BBC was such a good match, I just started the MME programme. I already notice that we now go more in-depth in the matter and are taught more specific tools and methods.
