Student testimonial

Student Trang - MSc International Development Studies

"I did my bachelor in International Business Economics in Vietnam and worked for some time in an NGO." Trang became interested in the sustainable management of natural resources for poverty reduction during her study here.

I also benefitted a lot from the interactions among students from all over the world.

Student interaction

“I worked in various community development projects in an NGO. I experienced the problems in some of the development interventions first hand, and I decided to do a Master in International Development. I found the International Development Studies programme, specifically the specialization in Economics of Development, very suitable for my needs. Thanks to good marks in my bachelor, I managed to earn scholarships for this particular programme.  Apart from economics courses, I was able to follow optional courses about climate change and management of natural resources. I also benefitted a lot from the interactions among students from all over the world, which facilitated our experience sharing and exchange of ideas. And I worked as a board member of the International Student Organization of Wageningen as a complement to my study. And Wageningen is a lively student city with plentiful chances to learn from other international students.

Sustainable management

Through my courses I have become interested in the sustainable management of natural resources for poverty reduction. For my internship, I worked at Bioversity International in Rome, where they do research to address development issues like food security, climate change and poverty. I am now already back in my home country Vietnam, where I am looking for jobs in the field of sustainable management of natural resources for poverty reduction.”
