After her two master’s ‘International Public Health’ and ‘Communication, Health and Life Sciences’ Tirza had no problem finding a job. She placed a call on LinkedIn and within three months she was approached to work as a project manager at Health[e]Foundation.
What does the Health[e]Foundation do?
"We provide training on poverty related diseases (HIV/AIDS, malaria, etc.) to healthcare workers in developing countries. We use blended learning for these trainings. Blended learning is the combination of e-learning and on-site workshops. I travel once every two months to Africa to give these workshops."
Do you like travelling this often?
"I enjoy travelling, seeing new countries and experiencing other cultures. This also allows me to see how valuable our work is for healthcare workers in developing countries.
How important is communication about health and life sciences in your job?
"Communication is a very important part of my work. In my daily work I communicate with partners in other countries about the training programmes and workshops. Next to the trainings, I communicate via social media about the work Health[e]Foundation is carrying out."
Can you describe your job in a few words?
"My work in a few words: flexibility, planning and organising, communication skills, initiative and collaboration."
