MRI of intact plants

In plants xylem and phloem transport are directly coupled to evaporation, photosynthesis, CO2 uptake and growth/yield. Modelling is needed to understand limiting factors and reliable phenotyping (A). Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) (B)is the Gold Standard to study these flows undisturbed in intact plants in relation to water in storage pools in tissues (C) and to the other parameters, as a function of e.g. drought, flooding, anoxia (stressors).
