Happy Kokwenda Peter, Sandwich Ph.D (Tanzania)

Area of Interest:

Ms. Peter has a multidisciplinary interests which includes Fisheries management, ecology and fisheries biology. Her interest is in understanding fishers behaviours as driven by fish distributions in relation to physiochemical changes in aquatic environment.

Relevant Research: In May 2008 Ms. Peter started her PhD studies at Wageningen University in Animal science department with Aquaculture and Fisheries Group (AFI).

Her PhD is under SEDEC project (Disentangling  the Social and Ecological Drivers of Ecosystem Changes in lake Victoria). Her project title is “Effort allocation and the impact of eutrophication and fishing on the distribution and size structure of Nile perch-Lake Victoria Tanzania.

Before Ms. Peter started her PhD she obtained a BSc general in Marine science and microbiology from university of Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania and a MSc degree in ecological Marine Management specialised in Marine pollution and risk management from the Interuniversity program between Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB)- free University of Brussels and Universiteit Antwerpen (AU) –University of Antwerp, Belgium.
