BVLE – SLE joint seminar ‘What if direct incomesupport to Belgian/Dutch agriculture would disappear?’

On the 9 December the Business Economics Group and the Agricultural Economics and Rural Policy Group hosted a joint seminar of the Belgian Association of Agricultural economics (BVLE) with the Dutch Studiekring Landbouweconomie (SLE).

Central question that day was ‘What are the consequences
are of abolishing direct income support from the Common Agricultural Policy for the Dutch and Belgian agricultural sector? Dutch and Belgium experts from research and policy discussed their view on how direct income support need to be reallocated and how the position of famers can be reinforced.
