National Leek Day 2017

This year, Applied Arable and Vegetable Research Vredepeel will again be organising the National Leek Day. This will be an opportunity to learn about developments which are worth sharing, according to the Applied Arable and Vegetable Research organisation, Delphy and the Field Production team of ZLTO-LLTB (Southern Agriculture and Horticulture Organization/Limburg Agricultural and Horticultural Association). We will be pleased to welcome you in Vredepeel on Thursday 12 October.

About Applied Arable and Vegetable Research Vredepeel

Applied Arable and Vegetable Research has been conducting research into leeks for decades. Jos Wilms, researcher at Applied Arable and Vegetable Research: "We are familiar with the crop. I personally have 30 years of experience with it." This year, there are four hectares of leek trials. The research topics are very diverse: from fertilisation, spraying and systems to varieties. "As far as we are concerned, a trial is only truly successful if it finds its way into practice. This is the primary motivation behind National Leek Day", according to Brigitte Kroonen, initiator of the event.
