Dialogue on Science, Culture and Diversity

Impulse, 16.30-18.00 - Researchers, Scientists and students from the WUR conduct research across the world, in various forms. These forms may include visits abroad for data collection, running field experiments, and collaborations with other people and institutions, that are working in our domain (Nature, Food and Environment). We assume that conducting research overseas, opens up researchers and scientists to new and diverse cultures, which might influence their views on science, society and diversity. It may be possible as well that working in diverse cultures has impacts on how scientists work, the methods they use over time, and maybe in their way of life. During the One World Week, we would like to provide a platform to WUR researchers and scientists, and students, where they share their experiences, on conducting scientific research in diverse cultures, and whether it has shaped their views regarding science, culture and diversity. The focus will be on of cultural diversity and possible ways in which it has impacted their way of life.
