Data Stewardship @ WUR: Meet Your Peers

Are you a Data Steward/Data Manager/Data Management person in your group? On 8 November 2018, the Wageningen Data Competence Center organizes a network meeting on the issues in data stewardship and the role of data stewards in their units.

Research data, data science, data science education, big data, data management and data management plans: terminology used more and more in the language of the researcher, grant applications and education.

Since September 2017 Wageningen University & Research has its own Data Competence Center and since April of this year Wageningen University & Research has a new data policy.

"As a reaction to the dynamics and requirements around "data" we observe in some groups (if not in many groups) at WUR that researchers, research assistants, project members and other staff take up the role of "Data steward": they act as question point around data subjects for their colleagues, assist in making data management plans, know where the tools can be found and they know the way to the data desk etc."

On Thursday 8 November 2018, from 1:30 am to 5 pm there will be a network event on Data Stewardship, organized by Wageningen Data Competence Center.
