The Lean Library browser plugin offers easy off-campus access to subscribed scientific literature and databases. It now comes with extra contextual information and a chat option for instant support. Install it and enjoy easy off-campus access wherever you are.

The Library in your browser

Lean Library is a browser extension for easy access to Library resources and assistance. 5000 WUR researchers, teachers and students are already using this handy tool. Lean Library:

  • notifies you if you’re on the website of a journal that the Library subscribes to. Doesn't matter whether you're on or off-campus.
  • searches for alternative, legal ways to get the full text, including Open Access, if the Library doesn't have a subscription.
  • saves you time trying to find PDFs and other full text information.

Install the plugin and select Wageningen University & Research from the list of libraries. Library Access works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Opera. It cannot be installed on mobiles or tablets.

Get instant support

A new functionality of the plugin gives you tailored information on the specific database or journal you’re accessing. You’ll also get the option to start a live chat to quickly ask a WUR librarian for help.

Do you want to see the new functionalities in action? Go to Scopus and a menu with the WUR logo will appear on the right side of your screen. This menu will contain links to search tips and a tutorial for Scopus. The live chat option is also available in this menu.

In the coming months the new menu will appear on more websites. New functionalities will also be added, like the possibility to get the search results from WUR Library Search next to your Google (Scholar) search results.

Finetune the pop-ups

Have you already installed the plugin? Lean Library offers possibilities to finetune the pop-ups you want to see. If you want to know more, read the FAQ on the advanced Lean Library settings.
