These 22 drawings were made by Fiep Westendorp for a short instructional film on how to work more efficiently and ergonomically in the ornamental horticulture business. Fiep Westendorp is better known as the illustrator of well-known Dutch children’s books.
Fiep Westendorp is the famous illustrator of Dutch children’s books like "Jip en Janneke", the cats Pim & Pom and "Pluk van de Petteflet". The instructional drawings presented here were found in an envelope. This envelope stated that they were made by Pien Sprenger, the daughter of Wageningen University horticultural professor A.M. Sprenger (1881-1958). In the envelope, a handwritten contemporary text mentions the credits of a film with illustrations by Fiep Westendorp.

The Wageningen Institute for Horticultural Technology (I.T.T.) was asked in 1965 by the Dutch Association of Floriculture to do a study for best practices in working methods. While a booklet was published with illustrations made by someone else, we don’t know whether the film with Westendorp’s drawings was ever made.
