Library support for literature searches
The Library can help you to search for literature and patents. This page lists the services that are available to library staff and students as well as to external customers. If the service you want is not listed here, do not hesitate to contact us.
Individual support
If you need help to find or to use literature sources, you can directly contact the information specialist of your discipline. The specialist can help you with the following:
- choosing the right information sources
- using bibliographic databases
- defining search strategies to identify relevant literature
- doing extensive literature searches as part of a systematic review
- setting up alerts
- using EndNote or Mendeley
- searching for patents
The support can vary. Your question might be answered by e-mail, or discussed during an appointment or Skype session. The information specialist can also perform your literature search or any part thereof and set up alerts.
Group support
The Library also offers sessions for groups. Depending on the type of help you need, the Library offers short trainings, (software) demonstrations, or general information sessions. Group support can be tailored to a certain discipline. Think of a short workshop or demonstration focused on finding relevant literature in important databases in your field. Courses and online tutorials
The library regularly organises courses and demos on topics, such as searching for literature and patents, citing and referencing, EndNote, and Mendeley. Check the calendar for dates and venues.
