Jørn and Lia Copijn donated part of their landscape designs to the Special Collections of WUR Library. This selection of about 200 landscape plans dates from the period 1980-2006. Many are designs for public green spaces, companies, institutions and private customers.

Hendrik Copijn

The Special Collections already had a Hendrik Copijn collection dating from the mid-19th century till the mid-20th century, including work by his father and his sons. The Copijn family has been working as nursery men and garden architects in the Netherlands for more than 250 years. Hendrik Copijn was the first family member to become a full-time garden architect. He worked at several large estates, for example at Paleis Noordeinde.

Jørn and Lia Copijn

In 1980, Jørn and Lia Copijn started working at the firm Copijn Utrecht and after 2006 at Copijn Bruine Beuk. Some of their work was done on estates where Hendrik Copijn worked earlier. The Copijn firms also made a well-known name for themselves with new types of design orders like roof and indoor gardens, for instance at the ING-Bank in Amsterdam-Bijlmermeer.
