A collection about dairy processing has been added to the Image Collections. The images and graphs were used for education from 1918 to 1948 by Professor Boke van der Burg. They cover tools and machines for milk processing, cheese and butter making and other dairy industry topics in the first half of the 20th century.

The images in the Dairy Education collection come from the heritage of Professor Boke van der Burg. Boke van der Burg worked in Wageningen from 1913 to 1949. From 1918 until 1949, he was a professor at the Landbouwhogeschool, the predecessor of Wageningen University & Research. His chair was called 'Zuivelbereiding en melkkunde'.

Professor van der Burg was modern in his way of educating students. He displayed glass plates about dairy preparation, dairy techniques and the dairy industry with a magic lantern.

The main part of the collection was scanned by the Gelders Archief. They gave permission to WUR Image Collections to make the collection publicly available. The originals came from the Food Quality and Design Group and are now stored in Arnhem at the Gelders Archief.
