Dr. Adugna G. Mullissa received the M.Sc. degree in remote sensing for earth science applications from Addis Abeba University, Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, and the Ph.D. degree in radar remote sensing from the University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands. From September 2016 to January 2017 he was a visiting scientist at Lyle School of Civil Engineering, Purdue University, United States. From January 2018 to January 2019 he was a researcher at the University of Twente investigating deep learning methodologies for crop classification using polarimetric SAR data. He is currently a researcher on near real-time deforestation monitoring using Sentinel-1 multi-temporal images and machine learning at the Laboratory of Geoinformation Science and Remote Sensing, Wageningen University, The Netherlands. His research interests include microwave remote sensing, pattern recognition, and machine learning for SAR and polarimetric SAR data.
